Quick Overview

“(Grapes are from a patchwork of vineyards throughout the Barossa and Eden Valleys) Deep, bright, youthful purple/red colour and an attractive berry, spice and violet bouquet. The palate is very intense and focused, with lively astringency and grip, and a vibrancy that should see it aging well. There is richness and flesh. It punches well above its station” 92 Points Huon Hook

Not to be confused with Patch Adams of the Gesundheit! Institute, though there’d be a wealth of those who say Gesundheit over Bless You around the parts this wine comes from. Cedar, spice, earthiness, cloves. Savoury take off. Oak does its thing, though dark fruit is potent enough to take it on. Deeply flavoured wine with dark fruits again, some Xmas cakey richness, touch of liquorice and leather, finishes chewy, dense and firm. Saline acidity set under the dark fruits. Bold, big, traditional Yalumba shiraz – rustic and full with muscular tannin, but a suppleness that says ‘nectar’. Like bigger red wines? Go here for sure" 92 Points Mike Bennie, The Wine Front 91 points - "Intense and flavoursome shiraz from the Barossa. There is a delightful purity of fruit here with some nice plummy fruit flavours, a sprinkle of dry earth and some sweet oak to finish. The tannins are silky and fine and the palate delightfully friendly and approachable. Nice drinking over the next few years." Ray Jordan, The West Australian “Youthful purple. Oak-spiced dark berries and licorice on the nose, with a hint of pipe tobacco adding complexity. Sweet cherry-vanilla and mocha flavors are round and broad, with a touch of cracked pepper emerging with aeration. Plush and tannin-free, finishing with good punch and repeating vanilla and pepper notes” 89 Points Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar The Yalumba Barossa Patchwork Shiraz is dense dark purply red in colour. The aroma exhibits a mix of fresh bright berry compote fruits, dark plums and violets intermingled with a savoury complexity. This is a full-bodied Barossa Shiraz that shows richness, density and concentration. Rich dark jube fruit flavours fill the palate and are balanced with fine acidity and round, earthy tannins. Try with pork rib ragu and rigatoni.
